About Mount Clemens Rotary Club

Rotary is a worldwide organization but the impact is felt right here in our community. Members of Rotary clubs, known as Rotarians, provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.

Our Club is nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds. As signified by the motto, “Service Above Self,” Rotary’s main objective is service — in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world.

OUR CLUB WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1920

Paul Harris, an attorney in Chicago, formed the first Rotary Club on February 23rd of 1905, so professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. Mount Clemens Rotary followed in these footsteps 15 years later.

Values

Our values are simply but powerfully stated in the Rotary Four-Way Test. The Four Way Test is a nonpartisan and nonsectarian ethical guide for Rotarians to use for their personal and professional relationships.

Of the things we think, say or do

Is it the truth?

Is it fair to all concerned?

Will it build goodwill and better friendships?

Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

Being a member of the Mount Clemens Rotary has had an incredibly positive influence on me professionally and personally over the past 16 years. Because of Rotary I am better connected to community leaders; I regularly follow the principles of the 4-way test in my decision-making; and I am constantly reminded of the greater good that results when amazing people work together. Rotary is inspiring, transformational and best of all fun!”
