OPENING ACTIVITIES
WELCOME!
Our vice president, Sam Wireman opened the meeting at 12:18 p.m. (I guess he’s still practicing and I’m sure by next yearwe’ll start on time!). Bob Cannon led us in the Pledge. Then Valerie Miller led us in “The Four-Way Test,” and Sarah Lee led us in prayer. For lunch we enjoyed salad, pasta, chicken parmesan, the staple green beans, and ice cream.
PRESIDENTIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS Our club is going to be a banner sponsor for the Santa Parade. We need donations of candy for the parade which will be on November 19 (right around the corner somehow). Also, we would love to have some more Rotarians come to pass out candy. Please let Scott know if you can make it.

Larry Neal did a great job leading the chorus in music today.
We sang “This Land is your Land” and “Roll Rotary.”
SUNSHINE/GOOD WILL REPORTS Nancy broke her finger in a window so we wish her a speedy recovery!
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Barb Owen announced that The Salvation Army is doing their biggest fundraiser of the year over the lead-up to the holidays. They will be hosting a contest where groups or businesses can decorate a donation bin. Whoever collects the most donations will win a class at the Anton Art Center. Please see Barb if you would like to participate.
RECOGNITION
Julie Huttenlocher was on for recognition today:
Everyone was fined $2 for the somewhat fuzzy math of a push for the MSU/Michigan game falling on the (questionably determined) spread of 22 points Sarah Lee was fined $1 for each of her green socks which we decided were compression stockings. As a foot doctor, I applaud the effort to protect those legs! Valerie was fined $5 for her amazing trip to Israel Ryan Murphy was fined for a great trip to Hawaii Nancy Dedenbach was fined for her Keno winnings Ed Mastry’s grandaughter got a picture in the paper for her volleyball prowess so he gladly took the proud grandfather fine.
SPEAKER & PROGRAM
We had the pleasure to have Kimberly Janowicz speak to us today about her new magazine that will be starting in Mount Clemens and Clinton Township. She started at a graphic design firm in Chicago and chronicled her journey and inspirations to tell a story of people and places which led her to her newest endeavor. She said that during COVID she started a Facebook page - Destination Mount Clemens, and then realized that there were print magazines for some other cities in our area. She took the ball and ran with it, and has been growing her sponsorship base to release her magazine, hopefully in January 2023. The magazine will feature uplifting and positive stories about people, places, events, businesses and other happenings in the area. There will be distribution to 6,500 locations throughout Mount Clemens and Clinton Township and will also be available in an online edition so everyone can read it. Kim said that if you have any events, business openings, people that deserve recognition, or anything else that’s going on in the city to contact her to possibly feature in the magazine. She would love to “tell your story” with her amazing new magazine that will hopefully be a great boost to the area! Keep up the good work Kim!
